How do I control who can see and answer my invitation?

Use Who can come in your event’s settings, and review the separate option to hide the invitation.

Press Settings at the top of your event's Overview (in the app, the settings mark) and open Who can come. In an app version before 1.3, open Manage → Hosts & privacy and find Who can come.

  • Just your guest list: only people on your list can answer.
  • Anyone with the link: people can arrive through a shared link. Unless you set an RSVP deadline, they can answer on the website until the event ends, so a friend who turns up late can still get in.
  • Anyone can find it: the event can also be discoverable through search.

Limiting replies to your list does not by itself hide the invitation. Review the separate option that appears under it, Hide the invitation from anyone not on the list, and add the intended guests before expecting them to get in.

With RSVP off

When RSVP is off there is nothing to answer, so Just your guest list means only the people you invite can open the page, and the hints under each choice say so. Switching RSVP off or on re-applies your choice to match. On a guest-list-only event, switching RSVP off and back on leaves the invitation hidden from anyone not on your list, the safer way round; uncheck Hide the invitation from anyone not on the list if you want it readable again.

An address omitted from the visible page is not a promise that someone holding a non-private event link cannot retrieve it. Use the invitation's access controls for privacy.
